Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s father Krishnaraj passed away in the Lilavati hospitals of Mumbai after long days of illness. He was kept in the Intensive Care Unit or ICU. Sources close to Aishwarya said,”Aishwarya’s father Krishnaraj Rai passed away at the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra. Mr Rai passed away around 4 p.m. in Lilavati hospital ICU.”

 

 

Krishnaraj Rai was a biologist working with the army. He was visited by Aishwarya’s in-laws Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan while he was in the hospital. According to The Indian Express, he was apparently suffering from a recurrence of cancer. He was supposed to be discharged after a two-week stay in the hospital but was recently shifted to the ICU.

Many celebrities from Shah Rukh Khan and Anil Ambani to Sanjay Leela Bhansali attended Krishnaraj’s funeral in Mumbai.
