According to reports, the team has completed 80% of the shooting and will soon head to Europe to shoot a romantic song. The team are looking to wrap up all the work by June end. Keerthy plays Sandhya, a romantic interest to Vikram’s character.
The team recently colourful song in Karaikudi, where the chartbuster opening track of the first part, ‘Thirunelveli Halwada‘ was also filmed.
In a recent press meet, Hari said that the team has completed essential portions of the film in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Vizag. He also promised high-octane energy in each scene, and the production value will also be grand. “It will be an edge-of-the-seat action thriller and bigger than Saamy in scale,” he said.
Saamy Square features ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s return to the character – tough cop Aarusaamy – after 15 years. While the original released in 2003 and featured Trisha as the female lead, this film features Keerthy Suresh. Directed by Hari, the film has mostly been shot in Chennai, Karaikudi, Delhi, Mussoorie and Nepal. Saamy Square‘s other cast members include Bobby Simha as the antagonist, comedian Soori, Prabhu, John Vijay, Ishwarya and others.
With music by Devi Sri Prasad, a lot is expected in the music department too. Produced by Shibu Thameens, the film’s trailer was supposed to be out on May 26, but has since been postponed owing to the Sterlite issue in Thoothukudi.
Keerthy also has Sandakozhi 2 in the pipeline, starring alongside Vishal Krishna. Directed by N Lingusamy, the film will be a sequel to his 2005 film Sandakozhi. That film is likely to have a September release. She will soon make an announcement with respect to another film of hers soon!
