Actor Dileep and the popular Malayalam actress who was abducted in Kochi some months back had a major tiff years ago which was known to all. In the light of the event, many of the media houses published an array of stories which talked about the ‘involvement of a top actor’ hinting at Dileep due to the rough past between the two. The stories reached a level where news like the investigators approaching Dileep for interrogation swarmed around. Dileep kept denying his involvement.

With just days left for the trial in the abduction and alleged sexual assault of a prominent Malayalam woman actor in February 2017, Dileep has approached the High Court seeking a delay in the trial. In a petition filed by him, he has stated that he does not have enough documents and evidence for his side to go on trial on March 14th as announced. He has requested for more time to gather some paperwork for himself.

Advocate Raman Pillai, who represents Dileep, was reported by The News Minute as saying, “If our petition is granted by the HC, then automatically the date of commencement of trial will be pushed for later. The court is most definitely unlikely to ask the police to hand over the visuals on the same day, so that the trial can begin on the prescribed date.” We will know more about the case by March 14th.
