’96 The Film’ Teaser: Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi play Ram-Jaanu in this feel-good love story

Beautiful music too!

’96’ the film’s teaser is out and it exudes a breezy feel, with both Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathi making quite an unusual but fresh pair. While they don’t really say much, they convey through expressions and eyes, with Trisha coming across as the charming one and Vijay Sethupathi’s character as the one who gets charmed.

They play Ram and Jaanu, with Vijay Sethupathi’s character being that of a wildlife photographer. He’s quirky, clueless but fairly curious. Trisha’s character comes across as the more balanced one, whose eyes do all the talking. However, we also get a glimpse of her breaking down in a bathroom with Vijay’s character consoling her.

The music, too, exudes all things calm, a lovely melancholic beat set by Govind Menon of Kerala-based band Thaikkudam Bridge fame.

Directed by Prem Kumar, who was earlier the cinematographer of Vijay Sethupathi’s Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom, the flick will be produced by Nandagopal. It is reported that Vijay Sethupathi will also sport the role of a 96-year-old man. However, what we are more intrigued about is the love story that will be weaved from this rather interesting combination.

On the work front, Trisha was last seen making her Malayalam debut in the film Hey Jude with Nivin Pauly. She has a slew of projects in the pipeline including Garjanai – the Tamil remake of the Hindi film NH10Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Arvind Swami. She also has horror thriller Mohini, which is currently awaiting a green signal from the release regulation committee of Tamil Film Producers Council.

For Vijay Sethupathi, the actor has Super Deluxe, Junga, Seethakathi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Idam Porul Yaeval, and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam with Mani Ratnam.
