3 Reasons Why Neon Is The Best!

Neon for the brighter you!

How and How Much?

Now that we have warned you on the dangers of too much neon, it is time to enjoy our neon experience. A great way to brighten up your living room is to add some exciting new cushions. Choose a print and hue that will work with your sofa and wall colour. For instance, some teal cushion covers with fuchsia pink print may look lovely in a pale yellow room with stark furniture.

Match your bright cushions to a small rug, or a statement vase and some striking new art. You can even match your table linen with your hand towels in the dining area to start with.

Chennai-based interior decorators Vidhya Sagar and Shreelekha suggest accents for your living space such as “backlit (in neon colours) panelling, accents in cushion covers, table runners and bed covers.” For an unmistakable neon presence they advise, “Invest in neon-painted furniture for your kids’ rooms, or in console tables and occasional chairs. Artefacts such as clocks and objets d’art will also look nice.”

And if it is your child’s room you are redecorating, then you can really let your creative energy run free. Spend time with your little ones and ask them what shades they would prefer. Take them to the design store and make it a fun afternoon by allowing them to choose a neon poster frame or some neon curtains.

Remember, a pale coloured room (white, cream, pale pink, tea green etc.) would always serve as the best frame for these stunning colours. Simple furniture that has contemporary designs in painted wood, comfortable rattan and cane designs would also present a neon palette of colours well. Avoid prints on upholstery in a neon room, except for subtle self-prints on light-coloured fabrics.
