Mishel lived in a hostel in Kacheripady and was last seen alive at the St. Antony’s church in Kaloor. She had to stay in the hostel so that she could attend coaching classes for her CA in Palarivattom. The girl usually comes back home on weekends. However, she did not turn up last weekend in order to attend her extra classes and prepare for her exams.
Also during investigations, the Ernakulam police stated that a man was continuously forcing Mishel to accept his proposal for a relationship with him which made her anxious. “She was not interested in the relationship, and had many times told her friends about this. This could be the reason (for her to kill herself), but we are inquiring into whether she had some other issues”, the police further added.
However, Mishel’s father Shaji refuses to believe any of the above statements. He said, “Clearing the CA examinations was her only aim. Whenever she spoke to me, she shared her dreams about her career. She was good at studies also. She was a strong girl, I know that.”
In an interview with a news media, Shaji said, “Her body did not look like she had drowned.” He further alleged that there were no marks of drowning in water. The police have now contacted the man who kept calling Mishel forcing her to get into a relationship. The interrogations are expected to start soon.
